It has already been a tough year for Texas, Oklahoma, and the other regional states Coryell Roofing and Construction serve. When we heard Avery ISD in Texas was in need, we hand-delivered a donation of gift cards to support their recovery efforts.
Severe weather has made the last year more than challenging for Texas schools. Slowly recovering from winter storm damage has made it even more challenging to respond to other problems as they arise. Texas public school Avery ISD recently experienced this when pipes burst, and much of their campus flooded. Fortunately, Coryell Roofing was able to step up to help. We made a gift card donation to Avery ISD to show support to seven elementary and five middle school teachers who have worked unselfishly in the face of a series of obstacles. Students and staff were displaced for eight days, and all of Avery ISD were grateful for the donation. Lisa Olson and Wendell Olson were the Coryell employees that delivered the gift cards to the school.
“The teachers are very excited to have received the gift cards. It was completely unexpected,” commented a member of the Avery ISD faculty. “It has been such a difficult year, and then for our rooms to be damaged is almost more than a teacher can take. These gift cards are such a bright light to let us know that we are appreciated and thought of.”
Everyone at Coryell has been very enthusiastic about having the chance to help.
“It was truly one of the best experiences to surprise the teachers with the gift cards,” remarked the passionate Coryell Texas Territory Manager Lisa Olson. “The teachers were so happy to be able to replace some of the lost school supplies.”
At Coryell, our commitment is to our communities in all that we do. We plan to continue to help community members and institutions in need as needs arise.
