A building with a mission deserves a roof with a purpose—and The Salvation Army facility just outside of downtown Oklahoma City now has exactly that.
What once was a layered, leaking roof plagued by ponding water is now a sleek, energy-efficient Duro-Last® roofing system engineered for drainage and built to last. The original system—multiple mod-bit layers over a lightweight insulated concrete deck—was completely torn off and replaced with 3.5 inches of new insulation and a custom-designed tapered system. The result? Water now drains exactly where it’s supposed to go, and the building stays dry from wing to wing.
Topped with a 60-mil Duro-Tough® white membrane and mechanically fastened through concrete and into a metal pan, this severe hail-rated system was designed to take on Oklahoma’s wildest weather—and win. Best part? From start to finish, the project took just seven days and scored a perfect 100% on the final Duro-Last warranty inspection!
The Salvation Army staff made the entire process seamless, offering 24/7 access and even giving up their primary parking lot to make way for our crews and equipment. Now, with improved energy performance and long-term protection overhead, this iconic facility is ready to keep serving the community—rain or shine.
And yes, we’re proud of this one too. Just look at the roof!
