The gym at Highland Park ISD High School in Amarillo, TX, needed an overhaul from top to bottom, and Coryell Roofing was thrilled to win the job regarding the “top”!
Some roofing projects present engineering challenges, and some encounter weather challenges. Occasionally there are material shortages and delays. Sometimes, you get all the above in the same week. It’s the measure of a roofing company to not only manage but crush such obstacles and deliver more than expected in a little over 5 days.
The job required a complete tear-off, down to the joists for Highland Park ISD – well, that was no easy task. Next, new acoustic decking and additional joist supports were installed. After that, 5.2″ of polyiso insulation exceeded the code, adding energy efficiency and noise isolation. A tapered system was added to aid drainage, and then a super-tough 1/2″ cover-board for serious hail protection mechanically fastened for extreme wind-lift resistance. Top it off with 80 mils of fully adhered, highly reflective, white Duro-Fleece® PVC membrane from Duro-Last®, and you’ve got a roof that lives up to the Duro-Last® slogan, “World’s Best Roof”!
