Marcus Borchers has a dual role as both quality assurance and service manager for Coryell Roofing and Construction, Inc. (Coryell Roofing). As a quality assurance manager, Marcus ensures that all projects are installed to the correct specifications and up to Coryell Roofing standards. As a service manager, Marcus schedules and responds to all service calls to identify and create a scope of work to ensure the customer is dried back in. Once the repair is approved, he completes the work or delegates the repair. Marcus also assists with core patches and identifying unusual roof system issues. Before his current positions, Marcus worked many years as a project manager for the company. The knowledge and skills he gained during this time make him a go-to person that production managers call to their job sites when they have questions about an installation. Before joining the Coryell Roofing team in 2014, Marcus served in the U.S. Army from 2005-2010 and then in the reserves from 2010-2013. During this time, he had a thirteen-month deployment to Iraq, where he ran ammunitions and supplies throughout Iraq, Syria, and Kuwait, and he had six mini deployments. Marcus studied electrical engineering at Amarillo College.
Marcus’s life and work are guided by his belief that “failure is not the end, but merely a steppingstone to success.” Marcus’s work days for Coryell Roofing are often long and hard, but he says that “when you enjoy who you’re around and know you are appreciated and valued and looked [upon] as a member of the team and not a price tag, it makes those long, hard days enjoyable.” When not assuring the quality of a roofing job for Coryell Roofing or responding to service calls, Marcus enjoys time in the great outdoors with his six- year-old daughter as well as time spent golfing, fishing, hiking, and traveling.
